About us

The family Hutchinson bought the property in late 2010. The building was known and referred to by the locals as Schollese after the name of the very first people who lived in it in the 19th century. It seemed apt to retain this historical and original name.

Having moved from England, Laurie and Lynne along with chrildren William and Lucy set about the hard work of refurbishing the old farm house to create the B&B and converting the barn into the family home.

The friendly and very helpful local people made the integration into German life easier than anticipated.

Schollese is in the Hunsrück village of Reich, set in beautiful countryside and farmland – perfect for relaxing, walking or cycling – and only a 10 minutes drive from the small towns of Simmern, Kastellaun or Kirchberg. Meaning you are not far from good shops and services. All three towns have a plentyful supply of good restaurants and eating establishments.

In Kastellaun a good evening can be had in Ellens Irish Pub.

At Schollese a warm friendly welcome awaits you before you enjoy the B&B facilities followed by a comfortable nights sleep. Fully refreshed in the morning and having had a lovely breakfast, you are ready to meet the days adventures.
